Dental Surgeries

City Bridge Dental Care

24 Bridge St, Winchester SO23 9BH, UK – 01962 852737

My daughter was seen by John Scannell and we found him to be excellent - professional, sensitive to how she was feeling and we were very happy we chose his practice. We would highly recommend him to others.

Since I moved away from Winchester, I haven't attended City Bridge Dental but after reading these (admittedly old) reviews I thought it was worth adding my own experience of the practice. Yes, it is expensive and it may be tempting to question the fees. However, there is also the question of quality of work. I first went to the practice in 1998 after problems with another (cheaper) dentist's attempts to fix one of my crowns. Nick Ross was happy to sort things out for me and the crown he gave me is still in situ. A similar thing happened years later when I needed a crown after a section of tooth broke off a week before I was due to go holiday. My then dentist told me it couldn't be arranged in time and as my problem was not an 'emergency' there was nothing she could do. To me, it was an emergency and in a panic, I again contacted City Bridge Dental. As soon as I heard the receptionist's calm response, I knew everything was going to be OK. And it was. There were no problems, no insistence that I register first, no having to wait. Nick Ross was busy but Mark Aston expedited a new crown that fitted perfectly - and again is still in situ. Which brings me to the crux - nothing City Bridge has done for me has ever failed and that includes fillings as well as crowns. I live in Gloucestershire now and am happy with my present dentist but if I needed any major work done I might still return to the City Bridge practice. Expensive? Yes, but can one put a price on peace of mind?

St Cuthberts Dental Surgery

5 Newburgh St, Winchester SO23 8UY, UK – 01962 852806

I have been going here for over a year and a half since moving to Winchester. You get the sense that the staff really care about their patients and Jonathan Krum always welcomes you with a big smile. Check up appointments are swift but never rushed and Jonathan always takes time to explain what he's doing with an update afterwards and an opportunity to ask any questions - it all helps create a very positive experience. I feel I made a good choice and I can't rate this practice highly enough.

Very friendly, professional and caring team.

Bupa Dental Care Winchester

Marlfield House, St James' Ln, Winchester SO22 4NY, UK – 01962 855151

Dr Henny Muller and his assistant Claire were fantastic. I'm usually so terrified of the dentists and opted to have IV sedation for what was a rather complicated surgical extraction. They were both brilliant with me, made me feel relaxed and talked me through everything they were doing. I even got a follow-up call the next day from Dr Muller to check how I was feeling. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone with a fear of the dentist (particularly the sedation which is GREAT!!)

Great place to work

St Pauls Medical Practice

Alison Way, Winchester SO22 5DD, UK – 01962 853599

It's Super if you get the right GP. If you don't ask to change and don't let them tell you that you can not.

Excellent problem resolution from Philip Heiden the Practice manager and Andrea Tubby the reception manager. I just wish I had made contact with them sooner rather than later. Many Thanks

Find Recycling Centres

Hopkins Recycling Centre

Bar End Rd, Winchester SO23 9NP, UK – 01962 868523

In my experience, the staff are always willing to help and the different areas are clearly marked.

It's well built and designed, but there are some dodgy dealings that go on, they sift through and sell items that have been dumped, no where else in the employment of the council can you do this, why here? It's not retail, or is it? Do they pay tax on the monies from the sale of goods? Not sure this is very legal, or safe, charity shops cannot sell goods like this, why here? I've had people from the dump grab stuff off me for this purpose, not really acceptable.

Easy Bin Rubbish Removals: Rubbish Removal Specialists in Southampton, Hampshire & London

Suite 55 & 56 Basepoint Business Centre, 1 Winnall Valley Road, Winchester SO23 0LD, UK – 0345 241 6055

What An Amazing Company. So Customer and Senior Friendly. Punctual and Polite and Great Value. We have just had 30 years of garage clutter removed : rowing machine; ladders; punch bag; decades of hiking boots; dog paraphernalia; weights: paint; ancient shelves; table tops; the list goes on.... and most importantly much of this was stored in the rafters - a number of companies wouldn't remove anything over head height! And just as it says on the website, we didn't have to lift a finger! Thank you. We'll be calling about our attic next. Jayne and George. Fleet.

Thanks for collecting our sofas today and for your excellent service, coming, as you did, just one hour after I called you. Very professional service, reasonable terms, and being able to pay by card was helpful. Happy to recommend you to anyone who requires this type of service. Best wishes for the success of your business. John Clarke, Basingstoke.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill Restaurant

18 Jewry St, Winchester SO23 8RZ, UK – 01962 872930

This is a top restaurant I went here with my girlfriend and had a really good experience. The waiter was great just how they should be and the food was perfect. Extremely happy with the service I got. 10/10

A very attractive branch of Loch Fyne. Excellent fresh fish and good service. Fine wine list too. What prevents a fifth star?. My main course Hake fillet too small a portion. Always find this a problem at Loch Fyne. Would happily pay more..... But don't stinge on portion size. A shame... Otherwise faultless.

Lovely little restaurant. Came here unexpectedly on a Saturday lunchtime, no reservation, but we were seated quickly. Food arrived very quickly, considering how busy it was, and was absolutely amazing. Seriously some of the best we've ever had. Service was impeccable, prompt and efficient without being intrusive. Can't rate this place enough!

On busy Saturday day we were lucky to get a table here. Service is very good, attentive to detail. I had a steamed sea bass that was fantastic!!! My son had kids box- fish, noodles and broccoli ( fish was too dry:() Overall nice experience and we definitely come back again.

Western Church of England Primary School

Browning Dr, Winchester SO22 5AR, UK – 01962 852591

Caring staff who really know our children, fantastic outside space and lots of creative learning opportunities. Who could want any more for their children? A lovely school with a great educational track record of academic and personal achievement. We are delighted and very grateful that our children have all been able to attend this school.

Western is a really special school. There are newer and better equipped schools. So, what makes Western special? The sense of community, the academic achievement without undue pressure, the huge amount of outside space, the staff and, above all, the happy and confident children

The Henry Beaufort School

E Woodhay Rd, Winchester SO22 6JJ, UK – 01962 880073

I heard that everyone who came from henry beaufort did drugs once. Also, I heard that people instantly lost their virginity straight away. what a matured school;)

Connor Wright does not honestly know what he is talking about. A great school with great results where everyone is treated equally. If you misbehave like some certain indiuals and play it off as being bullied (or rather attention seeking!) you will be put in your place. Henry Beaufort is a good school and you should send your children there; but ensure they do not get involved with the crowds affiliated with certain reviewers.
