Delicious food and good service. Just had a family birthday dinner for my 14 year old son and 3 of his siblings. Nothing much went back to the kitchen and we needed extra portions of the excellent Tori Kara-Age.
Stunning Japanese food in a calm, classy setting...with excellent service. Loved that the chef and hostess were Japanese as well. I can highly recommend Kyoto

An amazing historical place where to stop and enjoy a superb meal. For sure a bit more expensive than the nearby places, but the menu choices cannot be compared with others. Quality ingredients and freshly made food. Definitely recommend for a quick stop, lunch or dinner. Also perfect for a date or a special occasion with someone special as well.
This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, the oldest building in Winchester and is lovely. It is a very intimate setting and so would not recommend it for large parties. The food is lovely but definitely quite fussy so if you prefer plainer food this is not the restaurant for you! The service is impeccable and they will do gluten free/vegetarian options for you but you will have to go ‘off menu’/make adjustments to the menu.

I've been here twice and both times the service has been very good and the food is tasty too. Restaurant is nicely laid out on two levels with a spacious feel. The kitchen is downstairs, as are about half of the tables. Will eat here again without hesitation.
The service is a bit slow but overall the food is definitely worth the wait .The staff are very helpful. This restaurant is offers a wide range of drinks including freshly made smoothies and the other of the two down sides is that the food comes in quite the quantity , however this does justify the arguably high prices for food.

We love the gandhi! They never disappoint!!. Just had a party of 20 of us and they were fast and efficient staff also very polite, the food is delicious!!
Went there last Sunday evening for my birthday, it was a lovely meal, one of the best curries I think i have had, and very attentive waiters. Spotlessly clean.

Very pleasant restaurant to eat in and the food well cooked and presented. perhaps lacking a little variation but overall a very pleasant meal with friends. Staff also very good and helpful.
Great food and plenty of space inside. Freindly staff too :-)

Good food. Service on this occasion a bit random, food didn't all arrive at the same time. Pleased they now have itemised printed bills.
So easy to order online then pickup. Excellent Indian food. Worthy of many a repeat visit.

The staff here have always been very pleasant and helpful. The food has always been really nice. Good place to go when meeting up with friends or family meal out. Very reasonably priced. I will definitely be going back there to eat.
Used to have great experiences here, but felt last night was a total flap. We ordered pretty much straight away and drinks arrived some minutes later with the news what we wanted wasn't available. Not wanting anything else, we were then told we had to order food because we ordered alcoholic beverages. Licencing laws state that we did, however because they were not able to provide said food, conned us into spending more money for something we didn't want. We then waited 17 minutes for some poorly cooked garlic bread, hoping we would order something else in the procrastination. If it wasn't for the fact the place was clean and tidy as always and Libby was polite and apologetic, I'd have given our experience last night 2 stars. Very disappointed.

We had a nice time last night with a good Italian meal in a crowded cheerful Winchester. Lots of people around due to the Hat Fair but Ask easily accommodated us. The only thing was they put us all on our own (2 people) upstairs when we would have preferred downstairs with a more busy restaurant experience. We thought there were even tables available on the ground floor but they took us upstairs. So this is why Ask doesn't get an excellent rating.
A very varied menu from pizza to pork belly. Staff were really friendly and the food was excellent. Not the cheapest restaurant but good value considering the quality.

I've always loved Prezzo Winchester - the staff are so friendly and efficient, the layout of the restaurant is considerate, and the hot food is served hot! Sounds obvious but the Newbury branch didn't always manage it. Very pleasant experience :-)
Been here a couple times, both times not peak times, and served very quickly, friendly staff, and very accommodating to dietary requirements and requests. Great value when using a taste card. Food delicious each time too. 👍

Greens is a delightful venue with a very well presented shopfront and also a small spread of tables for a nice pint in the sun or for smokers etc We have visited before including New Year's Eve for a themed Gatsby/prohibition style party where they served some pretty Fab honeycomb espresso martinis and the rest of their backbar is great. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and I think it gets better each time you visit. They also serve food but we normally get distracted by the cocktails or 2-4-1 prosecco day.
Really charming and friendly cafe. Staff were lovely, beautiful building and classy retro interior
52-54 St George's St, Winchester SO23 8AH, UK
This place was fantastic. A small number of people so it isn't intimidating and a really cosy atmosphere. The staff were all excellent and the mixologists made some lovely drinks! We'll definitely go back.
A wonderful idea brilliantly executed! The service was amazing and the cocktails delicious; a perfect alternative to the usual night out in Winchester.
Royal Oak, Winchester SO23 9AU, UK – 01962 842701
The Royal Oak is a great pub and has been for 1000+ years (or something like that!) The staff are super-friendly and the drink prices are some of the cheapest in town. There are great deals on most of the day such as 3 for £6 Tequila or 2 for 1 cocktails. The food portions are large and the food has always been well cooked and quickly produced when we've eaten here. The main problem we had was watching the England game as the satellite connection was terrible so missed most of it!
Modern/Classic mingle, wooden layout. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection of ales, lagers, wines and spirits. Outside seating with heated and sheltered areas. Ideally located at the top of town. Good food and some great deals on. Greene King prices. Clean and quite well laid out. Can get busy sometimes and makes it difficult to navigate around.

Tasty food, friendly service and great location. Great classic Chinese restaurant
Great atmosphere, subtile music, service was excellent and food one of the best Chinese I've ever had! Prices are affordable. Will definitely come back!
8 St George's St, Winchester SO23 8BG, UK – 01962 862838
Amazing Chinese food here! The best dishes that you may only can have it in China town. Highly recommend. Will definitely come back
We've always enjoyed eating at this restaurant, which serves good, authentic Chinese food. But we were really disappointed at our last visit with our family of five. The food was good, but when the bill arrived, we were shocked to find we'd been charged £10 for the pot of jasmine tea we'd shared. We queried this with the waiting staff but were told that there was a charge of £2 per person. Even that seemed unreasonable for a few leaves and some boiling water, but to multiply it by five to make one pot was outrageous. This left a bit of a bad taste (not from the food!) which might make us reluctant to visit again.

Dim t is by far the best East Asain cuisine in Winchester and we don't understand why we'd not eaten here sooner. The staff are friendly and accommodating and checked back on us a few times during our meal which was appreciated as we kept having to order more prawn crackers. We ordered quite a lot of food but we have a taste card and in the end we ended up spending less than £100 for 5 people eating starters, mains, sides and having a few cocktails each. The Dim Sum is great but they also have a wide range of other dishes worth trying. We'll be back very soon as for a few quid more than a high Street meal deal you can get something lush here.
Enjoy coming and getting a Dim T every time I go! The Dim Sum is especially really good. I've had reports that service can be slow at times, however, I haven't experienced this..!

Visited with family, we’re all of Indian heritage and chose this place because of the unusual menu, some dishes we would be used to but wouldn’t see on restaurant menus. The attention to detail was amazing, glass and cutlery were individually cleaned with staff taking particular pride in this. We also have some challenging dietary requirements and were so pleased that the owners and staff were accommodating of this. The food was extremely tasty, so far as to say it beats many of our local ones in London! My brother in law who is in the trade was also extremely complimentary too. Definitely one to go to if you fancy a tasty Indian.
Excellent service and good food. Typically on the spicier side, if you like it milder, do tell them and they will make it less hot for you. A good lunchtime menu with time for 2 courses within a standard hour lunch break
73 High St, Winchester SO23 9DA, UK – 01962 866267
Lovely food and staff. Had a hen meal here. If your party is big enough you get to order your food days before so there isn't chaos. Lovely place, looks pretty.
Beautiful French style inside, two floors. Lovely staff and great service. Pretty fancy. The food was absolutely amazing and really enjoyed it. Perfect portions. Very impressed and will definitely visit again.

Excellent Thai food. The khour kling is a stunningly spiced chopped chicken dish and is worth making a visit here on its own! Bizarrely good gin selection as well.
Fabulous restaurant with amazing fresh cooked food. The crispy duck dish was incredible. Fast, friendly service. Faultless.

Looked inviting so we dropped in for a quick drink - service at bar friendly and quick. Pub done out with really quirky retro stuff, plenty to look at. Comfy seating. Toilets spotless. Looked to have a lovely outdoor seating area. Can't comment on food as we didn't eat.
What a place, went for the football and it was Rammed but it was still fairly quick to get beers in and staff were quick at learning what you were going back for. Really good service and great atmospher. The win probably helped, bit still a five star pub
53 Southgate St, Winchester SO23 9EH, UK – 01962 866809
The Green Man is one of the most relaxing and quirky pubs in Winchester with an extensive range of quality food, wines and spirits. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will always find the time to go the extra mile. The food menu changes regularly and whenever we have eaten here we've left satisfied. The only negative is that it isn't a cheap night out but you do get what you pay for so I can't complain too much! Part of the independantly run 'Little Pub Group', there are a variety of incentives to visit their other local venues that all boast different characters but the same core quality of experience.
Had our wedding breakfast here. Fantastic food, service and general organisation from really helpful and friendly staff.

Chris and Matt the two barman I've experienced in my time as a local at Alfie's have been absolutely outstanding. Fantastic service great banter and overall an incredible passion towards their work. If you have the pleasure to be served by them I hope you treat them with the respect they deserve.
Cheesy Chips - Don't normally write reviews. Went to Alfie's during England vs Sweden. Order cheesy Chips expecting some mediocre quickly made grub. How wrong was I. These chips are the King's of chips. Layer of chips, thick layer of cheese, chips, thick layers of cheese. Wow, holy mother of the cheeses. Holy cheese.
